Jean Pierre Bassi Bikai, CPA is the Senior Manager and Owner of Bass Accounting and Tax Services-CPA, LLC, a well-established CPA firm based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, which he founded in May 2012. With over two decades of professional experience in accounting and finance, Jean Pierre specializes in business consulting, tax planning and preparation, audit and assurance, and full-service accounting solutions.
Before launching his own firm, Jean Pierre held several key positions in both the United States and Cameroon. He served for five years as a Senior Staff Accountant at Burness Communications in Bethesda, Maryland, where he continues to offer consulting services. His previous roles include Tax Manager at Audirex (Montgomery Village, MD), Staff Accountant at Robin Technologies (Rockville, MD), Senior Accounting Manager at Nelson and Partners (Cameroon), Accounting Manager at SOCAR (Cameroon), and Staff Accountant in the Division of Operations at Standard Chartered Bank (Cameroon).
Jean Pierre holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Douala in Cameroon. He later attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was an active member of several honor societies, including the Golden Key International Honour Society, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma.
A proud husband and father of four, Jean Pierre is deeply involved in his professional and local communities. He is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce.
Under his leadership, Bass Accounting and Tax Services has received multiple accolades, including five consecutive Angie’s List Super Service Awards for outstanding client service. In 2024, the firm was recognized for the second time as one of the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises in the DMV area. Most recently, in 2025, the firm was honored with the Top Bookkeeping Service Award, a testament to its continued commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.
Cynthia Bassi is a Staff Accountant at Bass Accounting and Tax Services-CPA, LLC, where she has been contributing her expertise in management and accounting since 2021. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business, Economics, and International Studies from Mount St. Mary’s University, with a minor in Spanish, and recently earned her MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, Cynthia brings a global perspective, strong analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail to her work. She is committed to accuracy, compliance, and delivering high-quality financial and management support to a diverse client base. Her contributions continue to strengthen the firm’s ability to serve businesses, nonprofits, and individuals with professionalism and excellence.
Joy Gill is an Administrative Assistant at Bass Accounting and Tax Services, where she has been an integral member of the team since 2018. With extensive experience in supporting daily operations, she ensures seamless coordination of administrative functions and client communications.
